1. The JSPS provides opportunity for junior researchers in Thailand, Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines to conduct cooperative research with Japanese researchers in Japanese universities in the longer than the grant for Exchange of Scientists. Its purpose is to provide longer time for researchers to acquire knowledge and research techniques from Japanese researchers in order to promote scientific advancement in research. Research to be conducted must be within scientific disciplines of the JSPS cooperative program organized by the system of Core University.
2. The grants are awarded for the 6 - month period of research conducting in Japan. Grantees will travel to Japan from August on wards.
3. There will be 5 - 10 grants (for all scientific disciplines and all countries). The JSPS will alternatively allocate the grants to researchers in the above mentioned countries.
4. The JSPS provides a round-tritravel to Japan, stipend, accommodation, research expense and other expenses as the JSPS has determined.
